Camden Art Prize
The Camden Art Prize runs each year beginning on the first weekend of May.
Expert judges examine each painting and award section winners and give commendation awards. They also decide the winner of the Camden Art Prize. The winning art work is purchased by the committee and donated to the Council of Camden for public display.
Entries
Works must be the original works of the entrant, must have been completed in the last 12 months and must not have been exhibited in any previous exhibition in the Camden, Campbelltown or Wollondilly local government areas.
Size of works must be within 1.0 square meter in area, including frame, and be suitable for hanging, with screws and wires attached, and be clearly marked on the back with Name, Address, Title of work, Section and Price.
Every work must be for sale and a commission of 30% of sale price will be retained by the Committee on sales. If an artist is registered for GST, the sale price MUST include GST. There is also a small entry fee per exhibited artwork.
Maximum of 3 entries per exhibitor is allowed and all paintings must remain for the duration of the exhibition.

Camden Art Prize Committee
The Main Aims of the Committee are:
- To stage the Camden Art Prize.
- To acquire works of art for the Council of Camden Art Collection, by holding acquisitive competitions.
- To promote the visual arts within the local government area of Camden and district, and to broaden and stimulate community perception of art with particular reference to Australian works.
The Camden Art Prize Committee is always looking for extra members or helpers. The work is voluntary and requires no artistic talent. Please express your interest by contacting the Camden Civic Centre who will provide you with the appropriate contact details.
