Artisan Market and ArtyCaf Live


Saturday 3 December, 10am-2pm at Narellan Library Plaza, showcasing the best of Macarthur's artistic and musical talent. See, touch and taste the fruits of our cultural community. Plus visit the Artycaf and try their extensive and affordable summer menu and free wifi.

ART WORKSHOPS




All workshops are $15 to be held at Camden Library 9am-12 noon.

Abstraction Through Still Life And Nature (12 nov)
Using inanimate objects and and specimens from nature as a reference point, become inspired as you create an abstract work of art. Observe and replicate line, form and shape, but with your own artistic interpretation.

Pencil Sketching (5 Nov)
Get back to the basics and be inspired by the endless possibilities of putting pencil to paper. In this workshop you will learn about rendering and shading techniques in both colour and monocromatic scales. Bring along a picture or photograph as a point of reference.

Monoprinting And Relief Printing (19 Nov)
Create unique pieces of art as you learn about this easy and imediate printmaking technique. Learn about line and shape as line drawings become transformed into colourful and vibrant prints.

Student Lock-In

Need some quiet space to study? Need some help? Just need to get out of the house? Camden Council Library Service will be holding a Student Lock-In on Friday the 14th October at Narellan Library from 5.15pm-10.30 pm. The lock-in will give HSC students the opportunity to use the library collections and consult with tutors via the Yourtutor online service. The Lock-in will provide space for silent and group study as well as providing a chillout zone if students just need to take a break. Take advantage of our HSC and subject collections, as well as a video seminar from HSC expert Rowan Kunz and online databases through our computer hub.



The Student Lock-In is FREE! (students may want to bring $5 for pizza).

Access to computers is free whether students wish to use our computers, or bring their laptop and take advantage of our WIFI access.

Library Kids Saturday Performances throughout May



During the month of May Camden Library Service will be holding Children’s Performances on Saturday mornings at Camden Library. All performances are FREE and are for children aged 2 to 6 years.

At the Foot of the Storyteller’s Chair
Bronwyn Vaughan
The Chair and the Storyteller, two fabulous characters, try to outdo one another with fantastic tales of metamorphsis. The audience will experience a charming play full of puppetry, music, song and dance from a variety of cultural sources with brilliantly designed and crafted props and costumes.

Music for Little Ones




Tom Harding




An exciting hands on session exploring the skills needed by the muso’s of tomorrow! Drumming generates lots of fun with embedded mathematics, listening skills, aural interpretaion and musical triggers. With body percussion and fun movements to both classical and original children’s songs, each child gets to sing, move and drum.

Afternoon Chess Club @ Narellan Library



Castle your way to victory at chess club at Narellan library. For the first time, on Wednesday 30th of March, Narellan library will be hosting chess club for all ages from 4-7pm. Youth, Children and adults are all welcome. No bookings required, just turn up on the day! We'll be setting up multiple tables in the magazine area, so you won't miss it as your enter the library doors.

Mime-O-Rama @ Narellan Library - 12th March 2011


Come and join us at Narellan Library on Saturday 12th March to see Mime-O-Rama. This performance is part of the 'Library Kids' program and is aimed at children aged 2 to 6 years.

Mime-O-Rama is presented by renowned physical theatre performer, Dennis Claire and is a great introduction to expressing imaginative ideas using your body. Dennis uses his skills in mime, movement, mask and visual theatre to get the message across - there is many ways to communicate and tell stories!

The performance is FREE and no bookings are necessary.
